Chakras and Energy Healing Meditation: How to Clear, Balance, and Heal Your Chakras

Chakras are the energy centers in our bodies. There are seven main chakras, which are located along the spine. Each chakra is responsible for different functions in our bodies, and when they are in balance, we feel healthy and whole. However, when our chakras are out of balance, we may feel physically or emotionally unwell.

Chakra healing is a type of energy healing that helps restore chakras balance. Chakra healing can be done in many ways, including meditation, visualization, breathwork, and using crystals. In this blog post, we will explore how to clear, balance, and heal your chakras using meditation.

 

The Seven Main Chakras

The seven main chakras are located along the spine, from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. They are:

  • Root chakra (Muladhara): located at the base of the spine; responsible for feeling grounded and secure 
  • Sacral chakra (Swadhisthana): located just below the navel; responsible for creativity and sexual energy 
  • Solar plexus chakra (Manipura): located just above the navel; responsible for personal power 
  • Heart chakra (Anahata): located at the center of the chest; responsible for love and compassion 
  • Throat chakra (Vishuddha): located at the base of the throat; responsible for communication 
  • Third eye chakra (Ajna): located between the eyebrows; responsible for intuition and inner knowing 
  • Crown chakra (Sahasrara): located at the top of the head; responsible for connection with Spirit 

When all of our chakras are in balance, we feel healthy and whole. However, when one or more of our chakras is out of balance, we may experience physical or emotional symptoms. For example, if our root chakra is out of balance, we may feel anxious or unsafe. If our solar plexus chakra is out of balance, we may feel powerless or lost. If our throat chakra is out of balance, we may have difficulty communicating our needs. And so on.  Chakra healing can help us to restore balance to our chakras so that we can feel healthy and whole again.

Breathwork For Chakra Healing

One simple way to begin clearing and balancing your chakras is with breathwork. Breathwork is a type of mindfulness practice that uses breathing techniques to bring awareness to the body and mind. It can be used to improve physical health, mental well-being, and emotional balance.  There are many different types of breathwork, but a simple way to get started is with equal breathing. To do equal breathing, simply breathe in through your nose for a count of four, then breathe out through your nose for a count of four. Repeat this process until you feel calm and relaxed. 

 

You can also add visualizations to your breathwork practice to help you focus on each individual chakra. For example, as you inhale through your nose while focusing on your root chakra at the base of your spine, imagine drawing an expanding circle of bright red light up from the ground into your body. As you exhale through your nose while focusing on your root chakra, imagine releasing any tension or negativity down into the ground beneath you. 

 

Repeat this process with each individual chakra until you reach the crown chakra at  the top of your head. Then spend a few minutes focusing on all of your chakras combined, imagining them all glowing brightly with balanced energy. When you're finished, take a few deep breaths and notice how you feel.   You can do this breathwork exercise anytime you need to recenter yourself or restore balance to your body. It's a simple yet powerful way to clear, balance, and heal your entire system. 

 

Chakra healing is a powerful tool that can help us find balance in our lives. Regularly practicing breathwork or meditation can keep us grounded, connected, and aligned with our highest selves. Meditation and Breathwork are just a couple of ways to work with our energy centers. Experiment with different techniques until you find what works best for you. I'm so excited to join you in this journey. As we learn together. [00:00:50] Thank you for joining me in today's meditation. Let's start by sitting up in a chair. [00:00:57] And putting both feet flat on the floor. [00:00:59] Or you [00:01:00] may sit on the floor in Lotus position with a pillow under your hips. [00:01:04] You may place your hands crossed in your lap. when you're ready. [00:01:09] You could start by closing your eyes. Or keeping them open. [00:01:15] Take a deep breath [00:01:17] Lift up your perineum or your pelvic floor. [00:01:19] Or your root chakra. [00:01:23] Do not hold your breath as you do this. Breathe normally. Squeeze those muscles as tightly as you can. And hold for five seconds. Two. Three. For. Five. Then let go and relax. Again, [00:01:44] Squeeze. Two. Three. Four. Five. Relax. [00:01:52] Squeeze up. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. [00:01:58] Then relax.[00:02:00] [00:02:02] Now contract the same muscles in your perineum at the same time, contract your lower abdomen. [00:02:08] Or your sacral. [00:02:09] Pull your lower abdomen up in, in locking down these first two centers. Hold for five seconds. Two. Three. Four. Five now, relax. [00:02:23] Pull those same muscles up and in again. And squeeze hold for five seconds. Two. Three. Four. Five. Relax. Again, Two. Three. Four. Five. And relax. Remember to keep breathing as you do this and do not hold your breath. [00:02:48] Now this next time, squeeze the muscles of your parent Niamh. [00:02:51] And at the same time, squeeze the muscles of your lower abdomen while also contracting the muscles of your upper abdomen. [00:02:58] Or your solar plexus.[00:03:00] [00:03:01] Now that you're tightening your first three centers, your root, your sacral. And your solar plexus. Hold all of these muscles or centers for five seconds. Two. Three four. Five. And relax. [00:03:19] Again, Pull in. Two. Three. Four. Five. And relax. [00:03:29] Remember to keep breathing Pull in for one. Two. Three. Four. Five. And relax. [00:03:40] Let's bring them in for one last time. Two three. Four. Five. [00:03:47] Now this last time, I want you to hold them tighter and lift higher. [00:03:53] Hold for a bit longer. [00:03:58] And relax.[00:04:00] [00:04:00] Next we're going to take your finger and place it on the top of your head. Work your fingertip right to the center of your scalp. So you remember where the point is when you take your finger off. [00:04:12] Remember that where you place your attention is where you place your energy. So that point is your target. [00:04:21] Put your hands back in your lap without contracting any muscles. Take one, slow, steady breath through your nose. [00:04:33] I want you to follow your breath from your root chakra. To your sacral. Through your solar plexus. Through the center of your heart. [00:04:42] Through your throat. Your third eye. All the way to your crown. To where your finger was. When you get to the top of your head, hold your breath and keep your attention [00:05:00] right on the top of your, head and let your energy follow your awareness. [00:05:04] Hold for about 10 seconds, then relax. [00:05:08] Six seven. Eight. Nine 10. Relax. [00:05:18] Place your finger on the top of your head again and take it away. Make sure you can feel that point with your finger. Rest your hands on your thighs. [00:05:29] Do one more breath without contracting any muscles. [00:05:33] When you inhale through your nose, imagine you're pulling energy up through your spine. Like drawing fluid up a straw. All the way to the top of your head. When you get to the top of your head, hold your breath for about the same time you did before. [00:05:51] When you get to the top of your head, count for one. Two. Three. For. Five. [00:06:00] Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. 10. Relax. [00:06:07] [00:06:07] On your next breath. I want you to inhale through your nose. And pull the energy through all your chakras at the same time. [00:06:15] Start by locking the muscles of your root chakra. Sacral. [00:06:24] Solar plexus. [00:06:28] You're going to take the intention to pull all of that stored energy in your lower body, into the brain. Follow your breath through each of those three centers. [00:06:40] As you continue to squeeze those muscles. Lock those first three centers Pull your breath. Up through your heart. Then through your throat. Through your third eye. And lastly your crown. Pull it all the way up to the top of your head. [00:07:00] Keeping your attention at your crown. [00:07:05] And hold your breath. As you keep squeezing your core muscles. Hold Two. Three. For. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine 10, relax and exhale. [00:07:23] Again, [00:07:24] Pull all of that energy. Through your roots. Sacral and solar plexus. [00:07:33] Repeats and pull all that energy in through your root. Sacral. Solar plexus. Bring it up to your heart. Your throat. Your third eye. And then your crown. [00:07:52] Hold for one. Two. Three. Four. 5 [00:08:00] 6, 7. Eight. Nine. 10. Relax, breathe out. [00:08:07] One last time. We're going to pull in through your route. Sacral solar plexus. [00:08:15] Up through your heart. Throat. Third eye and crown. [00:08:24] Energy to the top of your head for one. Two. Three. Four. 5 6, 7. Eight. Nine 10. Relax and exhale. [00:08:40] As we move this energy from our root to our crown. We are taking. [00:08:45] Energy that has been stuck in stored in your body and moving it up and down your spine. To create an energy flow. [00:08:54] This helps you heal your body. And helping you create something new[00:09:00] and getting out of survival mode from your body. [00:09:04] Remember to be patient with yourself as you practice this. [00:09:08] Give yourself grace. Because you're learning. [00:09:11] And give yourself. Thanks for showing up today.
